Offstring Toss and Catch
Offstring. The yoyo is NOT tied to the string. You throw it in the air and catch it on the string, kind of like a diabolo.
How to do it
- Yoyo is spinning on the string.
- Pull your hands apart to pop it up.
- Hold the string flat below it.
- Let it land softly on the string.
- Lower your hands a bit when it lands to soften the catch.
Tips
Don't stab UP at the yoyo. Let it fall onto the string.
The physics
The yoyo is in the air like a thrown ball. Your string acts like a trampoline that softens the landing.
