Offstring Throw

Offstring. The yoyo is NOT tied to the string. You throw it in the air and catch it on the string, kind of like a diabolo.

How to do it

  1. Hold the yoyo inside the loop of string. The string is NOT tied to it.
  2. Throw it up or out while pulling the string to start the spin.
  3. Catch the yoyo on the string when it comes down.
  4. Keep the string flat under it like a tightrope.

Tips

Use a real offstring yoyo. Normal yoyos are too narrow for this.

The physics

The yoyo spins on its own. The string is just a launchpad and a catcher, not glue.
