Suicide
Single-handed string tricks. One yoyo, usually one that does NOT come back on a tug. You land it on strings and move it through different shapes. This is the biggest modern style.
How to do it
- Start in trapeze.
- Make a loop of string around your other index finger.
- Slip the loop OFF your finger while keeping the yoyo on the trapeze.
- Let the loop spin freely in the air.
- Stick your finger back into the loop before it shrinks down.
- Continue or dismount.
Tips
Make the loop nice and big. Drop it gently. Watch the loop, not the yoyo.
The physics
The free loop spins through the air on its own. Air drag and twist make it shrink fast, so you have to catch it quickly.
