Slack Trapeze
Single-handed string tricks. One yoyo, usually one that does NOT come back on a tug. You land it on strings and move it through different shapes. This is the biggest modern style.
How to do it
- Throw a breakaway.
- Let some loose string form on purpose.
- Whip that loose loop around your other index finger.
- Land the yoyo on the new trapeze.
- Tighten and stabilize.
Tips
The slack comes from relaxing your throw hand, not from messing up. Use a smooth circular whip.
The physics
A loose string can wave around almost like a rope. You send a wave-shaped loop that wraps around your finger.
