Eli Hops
Single-handed string tricks. One yoyo, usually one that does NOT come back on a tug. You land it on strings and move it through different shapes. This is the biggest modern style.
How to do it
- Start in trapeze.
- Snap your hands apart to launch the yoyo up.
- Keep the string tight.
- Let the yoyo go above the string.
- Move your hands so the string is back under it.
- Catch it on the trapeze.
- Do it again.
Tips
The pop comes from yanking your hands APART, not from jerking up. Keep the string flat.
The physics
Pulling your hands apart yanks the string tight and shoots the yoyo up. Then it falls back down like a tossed ball.
