Breakaway

Basic / Responsive. The starter style. You use a yoyo that comes back when you tug the string.

How to do it

  1. Hold the yoyo near your opposite shoulder.
  2. Throw it sideways across your body.
  3. Let it swing down and out to the side like a pendulum.
  4. Either let it sleep at the bottom or use it to start a trapeze.

Tips

This is how you start most side-to-side tricks. The yoyo's spin should face forward, like a wheel rolling next to you.

The physics

It spins just like a sleeper, but its swing goes sideways instead of straight down.
